Introducing the new Andaman Cabriolet 38 ft catamaran, now for sale here in Phuket. This superb craft has been researched and designed specifically to suit the waters of the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand.
A medium sized catamaran, the Andaman Cabriolet is perfect for both charter clients and private owners looking for a combination of economy with a high standard of accommodation, ease of sailing and adaptablity.
With this in mind, the new design makes it the perfect platform for sailors wishing to participate in the many regional regattas and will appeal to both regatta charterers and competitive owners who aspire to achieve a podium position.
The design is based on hulls originally designed for an expedition to Antarctica, as well as serious racing. The remaining elements of design were completed by experienced Australian designers, which resulted in the original Stealth 12m catamaran, seen above in the main photo.
At this point in time, local input in Thailand has added the finishing touches to what was already a first–class cruising/racing catamaran into the perfect yacht for waters such as those around Thailand, whether private ownership, resort ownership or for charter.
Local input includes innovation in engine handling, accommodation, refrigeration, sewage treatment, furnishings, fittings and finish – as well as the unique integrated saloon/cockpit with the 'cabriolet' retractable saloon/cockpit roof.
The builders, Composite Catamarans Co., Ltd., have a wide range of experience that has been brought to bear on the design of this unique yacht, which is priced significantly below other popular catamarans of similar size and quality. Composite Catamarans are based in Phuket, Thailand which is also the base for regional and international yacht sales.

This latest design was made specifically for easier sailing by a crew with modest experience, with particular reference to the charter market and those who sail only occasionally. With the new rig being 3m shorter than the orginal design and 60cm narrrower in the beam, the boat can be sailed comfortably and safely by two persons.
Despite these modifications, the design caters for those who like to mix some racing with their cruising. The hull design is sleek with very little rocker so it doesn't drag water. Because of the impact on bouyancy of the hull design, weight is a key factor but despite some material modifications to the original design for strength and durability, the Andaman Cabriolet still weighs in at just 3,000Kgs lightships (racing trim).
Another special feature of the boat is it's retractable saloon roof. The Andaman Cabriolet's wide open, spacious saloon and cockpit gives the option of sailing 'al fresco' for all on board, without crowding in the cockpit area or being cut off in the saloon from the action.
At the same time, the saloon can be sealed off from the elements with the retractable saloon roof and sidescreens, perfect for those times when you have extra guests on board using the drop down saloon table/extra berth configuration.
