Bangkok to Phuket
|
The vast majority of visitors fly to Phuket airport via Bangkok (BKK), but there are direct flights from Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, which give you alternative options to Bangkok's new airport.
BKK is ultra modern, however, it's also ultra boring and is slowly sinking into the swamp on which it was built!
Toilets are few and far between so "go" before the plane lands at BKK.
The flight between Bangkok and Phuket takes about an hour.
Phuket airport is relaxed and it's usually a hassle free trip where you collect a free 30 day tourist pass (VOA) and head on out of the door into the wonderful weather. You have arrived!

Phuket Airport to Your Accommodation

It should never take more than an hour from Phuket International airport to anywhere on the island by taxi.
Taxi prices from the airport to Phuket Town or Patong are around 550 Baht, the price to Chalong is around 650 Baht. these prices are normally open to negotiation.
Most taxis can carry 4 – 6 people depending on luggage. It is suggested that a price is negotiated before getting in and setting off on your trip.
If you want to extend your stay beyond your visa date and wish advice, the number for Phuket Immigration is 076 340 477 and it is manned from 10–12 am and 1–3 pm during the week.
