Phuket Property in Karon is located on the popular west coast heading south over the hill from Patong. Karon Beach is the longest in the south.

Over the the last 10 years developers have basically joined Karon and Kata which were once
two small separate villages.
The only thing that differentiates between the 2 areas is the small headland between Karon Beach Resort and Club Med.
Although not nearly as busy as its big brother Patong, as you travel south along Karon, towards Kata, there is a distinct change in atmosphere. |
The intensity of the tourism industry is no where near that of Patong, and the southern end of Karon is reasonably laid back, although during the high season, parking and space under the purple bank sponsored beach umbrellas can be hard to find.

The Movenpick Hotel Resort is one of quite a few up-market resort / hotels in the area. They even have rooms under the swimming pool where you can lie in bed at night and look up at the stars through the pool's glass bottom.

There are a few more top of the range hotels in the area, such as the Hilton Phuket Arcadia, but the vast majority are mid to upper range,
catering for the family type trade as this is probably one of the most popular areas for family holidays.

Scandinavians in particular, frequent this section of the island, although you can and will meet just about every nationality in Karon during the high season.
Another resort that desrves a mention is the Karon View Resort. The name pretty much sums up the view from this resort.
Movenpick Residence is on the beachfront and has 30 sea view condo's all 2 bedroom (125–130 m2) with en-suite bathrooms.
Each has a fully equipped kitchen and a balcony.
Since it is part of the Movenpick hotel complex, owners have access to all facilities and the units are offered
leasehold at 14 – 17 million Baht.

A short walk from Karon beach is Prima Villas, a community
of tropical style villas consisting of 22 homes of which only 6 are left available for purchase.
These are all of the Prima Coral design which are 3 bedroom, the master bedrooms having a sunken bath.
The guest bedrooms have shared facilities with each bedroom overlooking a pool and garden. There is also a maid's room with bathroom.
They are available leasehold or freehold from 10 – 13 million Baht
In the condominium department there is Baan Paradise as well as Sunset Plaza.
And the Karon Hill (Luxury Condominium Complex) has 1,2 and 3 bedroom apartments
for sale starting at 5 million Baht.

Phuket Property in Karon – General

North of the "magic–roundabout", so named because of the Katoeys (lady-boys) that congregate there in the wee hours of the morning,
you will find Joe Kools, advertised as the "Worlds Worst Restaurant".
It's definitely worth a visit if you don't mind paying a litle extra for your beer.
