Phuket Sports and Activities Overview – Sports Clubs

A sports club with just about the widest spectrum of activities, in our view, is
Phuket Sports and Tennis Club. To mention just a few of them, they have Beach Volleyball, Tennis, Petanque, Archery, Badminton, Croquet, Pool, Darts etc. available for members and non-members.
With quality in mind, the tennis court, for example, is designed and constructed to meet all International standards and the pool table is one of the few genuine Brunswick pool tables to be found in Phuket.
The club is located just 1.5 kilometres from Chalong Circle, on the road to Rawai.

At the main tourist areas of Patong, Karon and Kata, you will find there are stalls on nearly every street corner
selling trips to neighboring islands where one can swim and snorkel in the crystal clear waters of the Andaman Sea,
and for the more adventurous, how about parasailing or being pulled along at high speed on an inflatable banana!
All this and much more is available from your hotel reception or street vendor. Just make sure you check out exactly what you're getting before you hand over your cash.
Fishing or Golfing – If you're arriving specifically to fish or play golf we suggest you seek out specialist
companies who give invaluable advice and arrange considerable discounts for the regular golfer or fisherman.
Companies like the Ex–pat Golf Association or
the Phuket Golf Tour Service or Jimmy's Fishing Trips can all make your
sport of choice better value and more exciting.

Phuket Aquarium - Starting at the quiet end of the spectrum, how about a trip to the
Aquarium.
Open daily from 9am – 5pm.
From Chaofa Rd. East heading towards Phuket Town, turn right on the road to Cape Panwa and follow it right to the end, you can't miss it as it is the end of the road!
It's very good value at 100 Baht per adult and 50 Baht per child (Half price for Thais.) The aquarium will give you a good insight into the wild life living in the ocean surrounding the island and makes an extremely good focal point for a day out exploring the delights of Cape Panwa, and don't forget the viewpoint on a good day.
Phuket Zoo – Heading toward Phuket town on Chaofa Rd. East from Chalong, you will come across a sign for
Phuket Zoo, turn left here and continue on for a further kilometer where you will find the zoo on the right hand side.
There have been several poor reports regarding the zoo, mainly based on the entry fee, which has to be said, is a tad expensive (for non Thais), however, there are still plenty of interesting surprises to be seen once inside, making it an enjoyable days excursion.
Phuket Butterfly Garden & Insect World
should also be on your list for a quiet day out. Come and see our flying flowers sums up this delightful place nicely.
Siam Safari Nature Tours
are also very popular. Based in Chalong, Siam Safari offers elephant trekking, jungle trekking, canoeing and Land Rover tours.
Gibbon Rehabilitation Project – In the much quieter north east of the island and in the heart of the National Park you will find the Gibbon Rehabilitation Project should be on the agenda
for all those who wish to investigate our distant cousins.
Thalang National Museum – And while in the area, just a short distance from the Heroines Monument in Thalang, the
Thalang National Museum is also worth a visit as Phuket has a very interesting history.
